Sierra Nevada Campus Celebrates 60th Anniversary of Job Corps | Local News

The Sierra Nevada Job Corps Campus joins more than 120 other campuses across the country in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Job Corps program.

“We are incredibly pleased that our campus is celebrating its 60th anniversary.th “We are celebrating our 20th anniversary of the Job Corps and are grateful to all of the students, staff, employers and community partners who made this possible,” said Rocky Flanary, Center Director of the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Campus.

The local campus accommodates 509 students aged 16 to 24 in fields such as security, nursing and construction. The campus also works directly with local and national employers to help them fill in-demand roles.

The Sierra Nevada campus has the ability to safely house, feed and train qualified applicants immediately and place them directly into employment, college or military service.

Eligible for Job Corps are low-income men and women ages 16 to 24 who are U.S. citizens, legal residents, or authorized to work in the United States.
