Jets' 'overrated' video: Every questionable shot from the viral clip, from New York pizza to Marvel and barbecue sauce

At the beginning of last season, it was often said that the Jets were overrated because of Aaron Rodgers alone.

The truth never fully emerged due to Rodgers' season-ending injury in Week 1, but the Jets' leaky offense made it clear that even with a healthy Rodgers, they would have been nearly impossible to achieve their Super Bowl goals.

Expectations are once again high for the Jets. Rodgers is back and New York made a number of moves in the offseason to bolster its offensive line. But that hasn't stopped some from saying the Jets, whose quarterback is nearly 41 and is fresh off a serious injury, are still overrated.

However, the Jets players are ready to turn those claims around.

In a viral video, a handful of Jets revealed what they believe is overrated — and no, other NFL teams and players were not included in their answers. In some cases, the answers were even more controversial.

Here's a look at what each player said was “overrated” in the training camp clip.

Jets' “overrated” video: What each player said

There is a certain amount of fun going on on Jets social media ahead of what could be the franchise's best season in a long time.

Here's the full video and a look at who gave which answer.

QB Andrew Peasley, QB Adrian Martinez: “The Office”

Peasley and Martinez have done the bulk of the preseason quarterbacking for the Jets while New York tries to retain Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor, and now we know what they don't do in their free time. “The Office” remains one of the most popular television shows in America more than a decade after it ended, but Peasley described it as “not funny.”

RB Breece Hall: Marvel

Hall is not a fan of the Marvel superhero movies, which are not exactly the hottest. Hall described himself as more of a “Harry Potter guy.”

QB Tyrod Taylor: Fruit

Tyrod Taylor has struggled with some unusual injuries throughout his career, and we may now know one of the reasons. Eat your fruit!

CB Sauce Gardner: Himself

Gardner, who was named All-Pro in each of his first two NFL seasons, didn't necessarily describe himself as overrated. “They said I was overrated. I am overrated,” Gardner told the camera.

S Jaylen Key: Sushi

This year's Mr. Irrelevant didn't go into detail, but he's probably not the only one who isn't a sushi fan.

RB Braelon Allen: Barbecue sauce

Allen was the youngest player in the draft in April and therefore the youngest active player in the NFL, which might give him some insight into this terrible attitude.

“Barbecue sauce, maybe? I’ll have barbecue,” Allen said.

Allen may not be from a part of the United States where barbecue is a major part of the country, nor does he play for the Jets in one, but that's still not an opinion you hear often.

CB Qwan'tez Stiggers: Boneless Wings

The rookie cornerback delivered perhaps the most relatable statement of the clip when he called boneless wings overrated. It's not an uncommon view that boneless wings are just chicken nuggets and don't deserve to be called “wings” at all, so Stiggers plays it safer than some of the statements that follow.

TE Neal Johnson: Onions

Johnson was prepared faster than anyone else and immediately replied, “You have to stop with those onions, brother. Onions are not so good. You have to stop putting onions everywhere.”

Virtually no one likes to eat onions on their own, but the reluctance to add onions to other foods may be going too far.

IYER: Why the Jets are smart not to trade Haason Reddick

Linebacker Anthony Hines: Hamburgers

Stop.

EN Solomon Thomas: Macaroni and Cheese

Thomas was born in Chicago but went to high school in Texas – and doesn’t like mac and cheese? Disturbing.

QB Aaron Rodgers: Training camp

After 40 years of life and 19 seasons in the NFL, he's probably right.

CB DJ Reed: Pizza and French Toast

“It's definitely overrated. It's just cheese and bread,” Reed said of pizza. That's not going to go over well in New York (or anywhere, really).

Reed went on to say that French toast is “just eggs and bread,” which raises the question of whether the complaint actually only refers to the bread.

CB Isaiah Oliver: Watermelon

“They eat it every day after practice. Not so good,” said the former Falcons starter.

CB Brandin Echols: New York pizza

Immediately no.

OL Kohl Levao: Seafood stew

Not everyone is a fan of seafood, but Levao's reaction immediately elicited a hilarious “Oh, woah, woah!” from teammate Austin Deculus.

C Joe Tippmann: Mangos

Tippman and Tyrod Taylor seem to have something in common.

DL Jalyn Holmes: Aaron Rodgers' hygiene

He probably knows better than the rest of us.

OL Obinna Eze: Fashion

Eze turned around and shouted that fashion is overrated, so this seems to be a firm belief from the third-year tackler.

LB Jamien Sherwood: Airplanes

“I don't believe airplanes are safe,” Sherwood said. That's fine, but the data strongly contradicts that notion.

CB Shemar Bartholomew: Video Games

As with Peasley and Martinez, we now know what Bartholomew doesn't do in his free time.

S Al Blades Jr.: Cheese

Really?

K Austin Seibert: Whataburger

“Whataburger is a little overrated because I'm an In-N-Out guy,” Seibert said. Okay.

WR Jason Brownlee: Seafood

Brownlee's interpretation contains an important clue: he is allergic to seafood. Given that, one can hardly blame him.

DL Bruce Hector: Crayfish

Hector's answer provoked a hilariously confused reaction from his teammate Tanzel Smart, who asked, “Where are you from?”

Hector is from Florida while Smart is from Baton Rouge, LA. That explains it.
