According to the press release, Muse first came to the attention of law enforcement in late 2022 when he was observed leaving a Kent apartment every morning and selling drugs hand-to-hand in the area of Airport Way South and South Holgate Street in Seattle.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Muse apparently targeted customers at a methadone clinic located a block from where he sold drugs.

“Fentanyl is an extremely dangerous drug that is ravaging our community… I am particularly concerned about the attack on a methadone clinic,” U.S. District Judge John H. Chun said in sentencing Monday.

In January, Muse began staying at an apartment in Lynnwood. On February 2, police served a court-ordered search warrant for the Lynnwood and Kent apartments.

Investigators found fentanyl, cocaine and three firearms in the Lynnwood apartment, the press release states. Officers also found cocaine in the Kent apartment.

The prosecution demanded a three-year prison sentence.

“Muse regularly sold fentanyl in a hand-to-hand trafficking scheme near a methadone clinic, targeting vulnerable individuals struggling with addiction treatment,” prosecutors wrote to the court. “This makes his drug trafficking particularly egregious and a reckless disregard for the safety of others.”
