Man sentenced for Leon Valley murder in 2022

In June 2022, officers found Darion Dixon with a gunshot wound. Before he died, Dixon identified the shooter as “Kenny.” Kenith Harden was later arrested.

LEON VALLEY, Texas – A man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for a 2022 murder at a Leon Valley apartment complex.

According to a press release from the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, a shooting occurred outside an apartment complex in Leon Valley on April 27, 2022.

Officers found Darion Dixon on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Before he died, Dixon identified the suspected shooter as “Kenny.”

On May 25, 2022, 54-year-old Kenith Harden was arrested and charged with Dixon's murder, according to jail records.

On June 6, 2024, more than two years later, a Bexar County jury convicted Harden of murder.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced Harden to 40 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

“Darion Dixon lived long enough to tell police who murdered him, and his courage helped bring his killer to justice,” said Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales.
