Second child sex crimes case filed against Bloomer man this month | Crimes and Courts

CHIPPEWA COUNTY (WQOW) – A Bloomer man is accused of sexually abusing children, the second child sex crimes charge filed against him this month.

44-year-old Scott Detlaff is accused of repeated sexual abuse of a child in Chippewa County.

According to the criminal complaint:

The victim told police that Detlaff had been sexually abusing him for years. The victim is now 15 years old and told police that this had been going on for four years.

According to police, Detlaff admitted to sending sexual images, videos and text messages, but denied the physical attacks.

Earlier this month, Detlaff was charged with child sex crimes in Eau Claire County. It is unclear if these charges relate to the same child.

In this case, Detlaff is accused of sexual exploitation of a child, using a computer to facilitate a sex crime and causing a child to view sexual acts.

According to the criminal complaint, Detlaff had numerous intimate conversations with a 15-year-old boy and sexual images and videos of Detlaff appeared.

Detlaff is due back in Eau Claire District Court on September 3 and in Chippewa District Court on October 1.
