Vice Presidential Debate Delays Premieres of 'The Irrational,' 'Accused' and More – See Schedule Changes

The 2024 Vice Presidential Debate has caused a number of programming changes for the fall 2024 television premieres. The second season of NBC’s The irrational and Fox's Accused will now premiere later than originally planned, as it is a one-day event and the broadcast time of Fox's Murder in a small town Season 1, episode 2 was also affected.

Vice presidential candidates Tim Walz and JD Vance will participate in the debate on Tuesday, October 1. An official time has not been announced, but a change in Fox's schedule suggests the debate will begin at 9/8c. The debate will air live on CBS and will likely be simulcast by other major news networks such as NBC, ABC and Fox.

Presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will debate on ABC on September 10. The 2024 Democratic National Convention began on Monday, August 19 in Chicago (here's how to watch the week's events).

When The irrational Premiere of the 2nd season?

The irrational The Season 2 premiere will take place on Tuesday, October 8, instead of Tuesday, October 1, on NBC, the network announced on Tuesday, August 20. The episode will retain its originally scheduled time slot of 10/9c.

The premiere will be preceded by a two-hour episode of The voice from 8/7c. The voice Season 26 premieres on Tuesday, September 23, with coaches Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé.

When Accused Premiere of the 2nd season?

Fox's legal anthology series Accused returns this fall with Season 2. It was also scheduled to premiere on October 1, but will premiere a week later due to the vice presidential debate. Accused The premiere of the second season will take place on Tuesday, October 8th at 8/7c (the time slot has not changed).

When Murder in a small town Premiere?

The new crime drama Murder in a small townstarring Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk, will premiere as scheduled on Tuesday, September 24th at 9/8c on Fox. It is the second episode of the new series, which will change its broadcast time for a week.

Murder in a small town Season 1, Episode 2 will air an hour earlier on Tuesday, October 1 at 8/7c on Fox, the network announced on August 20 along with the Accused Amendment. The debate follows immediately afterwards.
