Seven years after his murder, Ronald Rousseau's family hopes for justice

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The family of Ronald Rousseau held their annual vigil in his memory on Tuesday, seven years after he was shot.

According to Cincinnati police, his body was found in the driveway of his home on McKinley Avenue.

“I don't know who did it,” said his mother, Twanette Rousseau. “I don't know why they did it because he didn't bother anyone.”

Twanette said she has held a vigil in his memory every year since his murder on the anniversary of his death.

“I just want whoever did it, whoever is responsible, to tell him that we celebrate his life,” Twanette said. “It's hard, but we're going to move on.”

Friends and family members close to him, such as his sister-in-law Melina, said he was not violent.

“He was caring, he was generous,” Melina said. “He was loving, he was funny. He was a comedian. He was a great human being.”

Ronald had three daughters and a grandson he never met. His sister-in-law said he would have been thrilled to become a grandfather.

“It's hard,” Melina said. “I would have loved for him to see his first grandson. He would have been so happy.”

Rousseau's family hopes that the police will eventually find a suspect in his murder case.
