Child dies after tram accident in Ocean City

A child died in a streetcar crash in Ocean City Tuesday night, Ocean City police said. A 3-year-old died in a “streetcar crash in Ocean City” around 8 p.m., Ocean City Police Lt. Ashley Miller told 11 News. The crash happened near Dorchester Street and the Boardwalk, police said. A portion of the Boardwalk is closed and will remain closed during the investigation, police said. Miller said police will issue a statement once they complete their preliminary investigation. OCEAN CITY, Maryland —

A child was killed in a streetcar accident in Ocean City on Tuesday evening, Ocean City police said.

A 3-year-old died after being “involved in an accident with a streetcar in Ocean City” around 8 p.m., Ocean City Police Lt. Ashley Miller told 11 News.

The accident occurred near Dorchester Street and the Boardwalk, police said.

According to police, part of the boardwalk is closed and will remain closed during the investigation.

Miller said police will release a statement once they have completed their preliminary investigation.
