Motorists get a break from high petrol prices

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – American drivers can benefit from high gasoline prices at the pump.

Average gasoline prices across the country fell for the third week in a row on Monday, falling another 4.2 cents from the previous week to $3.37 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

The national average is currently 11.4 cents lower per gallon than it was this time a month ago.

Diesel prices have also fallen, reaching a new multi-year low of $3.69 per gallon.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, doesn't expect gas prices to rise anytime soon, suggesting the U.S. may be just emerging from a period of seasonal demand and high gas prices.
