36-year-old woman arrested after police chase in south Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) – On August 20, 2024, at approximately 5:03 p.m., a deputy while on patrol noticed a vehicle that was identified as the vehicle from a previous call.

Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of CR 7620 on a 911 call for a disturbance. Initial investigation indicates that the female suspect assaulted a victim in the home and threatened her with a knife.

An officer observed the suspect vehicle approaching the resident and attempted to stop the vehicle when the driver of the vehicle began to flee. A chase ensued.

The pursuit ended at the corner of 98th Street and Indiana, where a two-vehicle collision occurred.

The driver, later identified as 36-year-old Andreea Reyes, was taken into custody.

The drivers and passengers of the two vehicles hit by Reyes were taken to the UMC by ambulance with minor injuries. Reyes was also taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Andrea Reyes is accused of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (car), fleeing with a vehicle and aggravated assault (deadly weapon, threat).

The investigation is not yet complete.
