Brock Bowers injury update: Latest news on the Las Vegas Raiders tight end

After playing in his first preseason game a week and a half ago, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers had to sit out the game due to a foot injury.

As head coach Antonio Pierce announced after the 27-12 loss, Bowers did not participate in the second week of preseason play against the Dallas Cowboys due to this problem.

There was hope that Bowers would return to practice this week, but according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, he will not be part of the team's open practice session at Allegiant Stadium on Tuesday, noting that Bowers is dealing with foot soreness.

So far, there is no indication that Bowers could miss the season's opening game, which takes place in just over two weeks on Sunday, September 8, against the Los Angeles Chargers.

We need to continue to monitor his condition over the next few days and weeks.

Latest information on Brock Bowers' injury

Bowers, selected No. 13 in the 2024 NFL Draft, is expected to play an immediate role on offense.

He made two pass catches for 25 yards in Week 1 of preseason against the Minnesota Vikings. Bowers' skill and versatility were on full display in the game, as the Georgia product lined up on the outside, in the slot, in the line and in the backfield, flashing his ability to gain yards after the catch.

Bowers will catch passes from veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew beginning in the 2024 season after the team announced him as the starter on Sunday. Minshew's spot is not guaranteed for the entire season, however, as Aidan O'Connell is ready to step in if Minshew falters.
