A North Fort Myers man is fighting for his eyesight because of a dispute over loud music

An argument over loud music escalated on Amber Avenue in North Fort Myers on Monday and a neighbor is now fighting for his eyesight. The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Donald Otto was arrested for the incident and charged with assault and burglary. Anthony Orsini said John Thacker, whom he calls Bo, asked him to come over and set up his speakers to drown out the neighbor's music. Then Otto started thrashing around, Orsini said. “I saw him on the ground with blood coming out of his eyes. It was crazy. After that my mom said call 911. The police came. EMS came and took care of him,” Orsini said. Neighbors said Thacker is now in Miami and is being treated. They hope doctors can save his eye. “His eye looks like, you know, when you have a color in the pupil, it was just red and it looked like blood was coming out. It looked like a horror movie.”
