‘Bumpy’ burglar left glove at crime scene in Cotttenham

Police described a criminal with a long criminal record who left a glove with his DNA at the crime scene as a “bungling burglar.”

Tinashe Wilson, 27, has begun a 16-month prison sentence after admitting burglary and drug possession.

He broke into a house in Cotttenham, Cambridgeshire, a few days before Christmas.

The victim returned home the next day and discovered that a 45-inch (114 cm) television and a stereo amplifier had been stolen, police said.

A police statement said Wilson was a “bungling burglar.” It added: “A black latex glove found at the scene was forensically tested and found to contain DNA consistent with that of Wilson, who has 12 previous convictions for 31 crimes.”

They said Wilson, of Wadloes Road, Cambridge, was “wanted for return to prison” when he broke into the house.

A court official said Wilson was sentenced to 16 months in prison at a hearing at Cambridge Crown Court on August 15.

He had pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of cocaine and amphetamine.
