Independence Police Investigate Shooting on I-70 Near Little Blue Parkway

One person was seriously injured in a shooting on a highway Tuesday night in Independence. Officers responded to reports of shots fired on westbound Interstate 70 near Little Blue Parkway. Police arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m. and westbound I-70 was temporarily closed due to the investigation. The highway reopened to traffic shortly after 10:15 p.m. The suspect's vehicle fled westbound, police said.

One person was seriously injured in a shooting on a highway in Independence on Tuesday evening.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired on westbound Interstate 70 near Little Blue Parkway.

Police arrived on scene around 9:30 p.m. and westbound I-70 was temporarily closed for the investigation.

The motorway was reopened to traffic shortly after 10:15 p.m.

Police said they fled westwards in the suspect's vehicle.
