Newark woman receives ticket after accident that left teenager hospitalized

A Newark woman was ticketed after she was involved in a rear-end collision on Penfield Walworth Road in Walworth that left a juvenile hospitalized. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported that Amy M. Ladd, 45, struck a vehicle that was making a left turn onto Larraine Drive at approximately 4:44 p.m. Tuesday.

Ladd, who was traveling westbound, was cited for tailgating. The juvenile passenger in her vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital by Western Wayne Ambulance.

The Walworth Fire Department was also on scene. Ladd is scheduled to appear in Walworth Municipal Court at a later date.
