Single-vehicle accident west of Chillicothe leaves driver with minor injuries

On August 20, 2024 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of LIV 2164 and LIV 235, one mile west of Chillicothe, Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol under the supervision of Trooper KJ Cool responded to the incident.

The crash involved a 2024 Ford Mustang driven by Mary A. Barnett, 22, of Polo, Missouri. According to the report, Barnett was traveling westbound on LIV 2164 when she failed to negotiate a curve at LIV 235. The vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway and down an embankment until it came to rest on its wheels facing northwest.

Barnett was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and suffered minor injuries. She was transported by Chillicothe EMS to Hedrick Medical Center for evaluation.

The Ford Mustang suffered no visible damage, but was towed by Gabrielson's as a precaution.
