The fight between Bakole and Zhang would “shake the division to its core!”

Martin Bakole is set to face Zhilei Zhang in front of Zhang's fans in China in December. Bakole, fresh off his impressive stoppage win over Jared Anderson (that devastating loss perhaps ruins Anderson for all time, we'll have to wait and see if Anderson is cut from the right cloth to fight back), spoke to Sky Sports, as did the fighter's promoter Ben Shalom, and the 32-year-old explained that Zhang is the man he wants next.

While Shalom, without using exaggerated rhetoric, declared that this fight would “the [heavyweight] Division to the core.”

Bakole, who has only been beaten by Michael Hunter, with Bakole suffering a shoulder injury, against Zhang, who has only been beaten by Filip Hrgovic and Joseph Parker, with both losses coming on close points, would no doubt make for a heavyweight fight to marvel at.

“I would like to meet Big Bang Zhang in China in December,” said Bakole. “I heard His Excellency (Turki Alalshikh) wanted to make it in China, so that is the fight I really want. I always fight outside [of home]”I traveled to the United States to fight Anderson and I traveled to Paris to fight Tony Yoka. I'm ready to fight Zhang in front of his fans.”

And promoter Shalom wants the fight as much as his fighter.

“A fight between Zhang and Bakole is exactly the kind of blockbuster fight that the fans deserve,” Shalom rightly said. “This is a fight that would shake the division to its core.”

No doubt this fight would end by knockout, it seems like the two are trading bombs to make that happen. Boxing would probably be over unless there were some nifty punches and/or a guy setting a nasty trap for his opponent. But most of all, this fight – between two huge men, both close to the 300-pound mark – would be a heavyweight fight of the highest order.

It would be a risky proposition for both fighters and it would be to Zhang and Bakole's credit if they actually faced each other. But we fans hope both men can pull it off!

There could be two big and important heavyweight fights in December.
