Scottsbluff Police Join Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign

The Scottsbluff Police Department has received a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Office to participate in the statewide drunk driving enforcement campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

Scottsbluff police officers will work overtime starting August 14th until 2 Septemberand2024. Officers will be looking for all traffic violations, paying particular attention to driving under the influence. Scottsbluff Police remind drivers that alcohol, illegal drugs, and even certain types of prescription medications can cause impairment.

If you see a vehicle that you suspect is being driven by a drunk driver, please call 911 and provide the license plate number, description, and direction of travel. Do not attempt to chase drunk drivers, simply report the vehicle.

If you are hosting a gathering, plan to have a driver designated to bring the drunk driver home safely. Being designated as a driver means you are not allowed to drink at all.

Enjoy Labor Day weekend responsibly.
