Man arrested in connection with hit-and-run that killed woman in Waterbury – NBC Connecticut

A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in Waterbury earlier this month.

On Saturday, August 10, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of East Main Street for a report of a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.

When they arrived, police found a woman who had been hit by a car in the street. She was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital, where she later died. The woman was identified as 36-year-old Michelle Trausch of Norwich.

After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene of the accident.

Investigators said they identified the driver of the vehicle as 25-year-old Morris Holman of Waterbury.

An arrest warrant was issued for Holman and he was taken into custody on Tuesday.

Holman is facing charges including manslaughter, impaired driving, evading justice resulting in death, tampering with evidence, reckless driving, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, inadequate insurance coverage and misuse of a license plate.

He is being held on $250,000 bail.
