Bossier City police arrest man after supermarket shooting

Bossier City police have arrested a man who reportedly shot and injured another man during an altercation Tuesday morning.

Bossier City police officers were dispatched to the Circle K at 2470 Barksdale Blvd. around 6 p.m. on Aug. 20 for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the pelvis, a news release said.

The victim was taken to Ochsner LSU Health and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to the press release, detectives are investigating the incident. 47-year-old Lamont Heyward has been identified as the suspected shooter.

According to the investigation, Heyward got into an argument with the victim, pulled out a gun and shot him. According to police, the victim returned fire, shooting Heyward in the foot.
