A woman's ill-considered tiger move caught on video

It's a story reminiscent of this one from 2019: According to police, a woman climbed over a wooden fence at a New Jersey zoo and approached the tiger enclosure, where she stuck her hand through the metal fence and “began to lure the tiger.” NBC News describes her move as “an obvious attempt to pet the massive animal” at the Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton. NJ.com explains just how huge this animal is: The enclosure is home to 500-pound Bengal tigers.

The woman can be seen on video pulling her hand back to avoid being bitten as the tiger suddenly charges at her. She then appears to pose as if for a photo before leaving the area. Bridgeton police say they are trying to track down the woman and are asking anyone who recognizes her to call Patrolman Ron Cusano at 856-451-0033 extension 0. She added, “We would like to remind the public that when visiting the zoo, it is against city ordinance to climb over fences.” Fox5 reports that a sign at the enclosure warns visitors of this fact.
