In his latest side job outside of football, Cristiano Ronaldo has launched his own YouTube channel to connect with his fans around the world.

The superstar is currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and, although his career is expected to be extended by several years, is close to retirement.

After officially revealing his latest side hustle on the video-sharing platform, Ronaldo promised to use the channel, titled “UR,” to show a rarely seen side of himself.

His content will also cover topics outside of his career on the football pitch and will include numerous clips he has already shot with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children.

It has been confirmed that the 39-year-old will also interview a number of mystery guests.

Ronaldo's channel launched on Wednesday afternoon and features a sleek logo design – with the UR looking like his initials CR, followed by a play button.

In a short one-minute sample, a laughing Ronaldo seemed in high spirits.

“I have a big surprise for you, the new YouTube channel,” he said.

The channel's bio cleverly encouraged viewers to “sign up and join the CR7 family,” a reference to Ronaldo's now-iconic goal celebration, often repeated by viewers.

Nine videos have been uploaded so far, including a “Meet Georgina,” a free-kick contest with his son, and a “This or That” selection where Ronaldo has to choose between legendary athletes such as Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.

Shortly afterwards, a Mr. & Mrs. quiz with Ronaldo and Georgina went live.

Ronaldo said: “I am very happy to make this project a reality. I have been thinking about it for a long time, but now we finally have the opportunity to make it a reality.”

“I've always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with my fans on social media. My YouTube channel gives me an even bigger platform for that and they get to learn more about me, my family and my views on many different topics.”

“I’m looking forward to surprising conversations with my guests!”
