Mansfield resident arrested for reckless driving

MANSFIELD, CT (WFSB) – A 19-year-old was arrested yesterday for reckless driving in Mansfield.

A Troop C officer spotted the car traveling east on Chaffeeville Road at approximately 9:34 a.m.

The car – a white Dodge Charger SXT registered in Connecticut – was traveling 80 to 90 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone.

In addition, the driver took sharp turns on wet roads at high speed, thereby endangering other motorists and pedestrians.

He was stopped by the police officer on Mulberry Road without any problems.

Troop C identified the driver as Dylan Roy of Mansfield.

When questioned by the police officer, he admitted to driving significantly faster than the speed limit.

Roy was arrested at the scene and charged with reckless driving, but was released on $2,500 bail.

He will appear in Rockville Superior Court for arraignment on September 9.
