LSU women's basketball schedule released for 2024-25 season

BATON ROUGE – The LSU women's basketball team, in conjunction with the Southeastern Conference, announced its schedule Wednesday afternoon for the Tigers' 50th season, which is set to begin in early November. The SEC Network will cover the release of the conference's women's basketball team's schedule Thursday afternoon.

LSU will play 18 home games (plus two exhibition games) and 10 away games during the regular season, as well as a handful of neutral site games. The schedule includes a Thanksgiving tournament in the Bahamas, home games for Aneesah Morrow and Mikaylah Williams, and a Hall of Fame Showcase game in Connecticut.

In the SEC schedule, the Tigers will play each conference opponent just once, with the exception of Tennessee, which will be a home-and-away game. LSU will play Oklahoma at home and Texas on the road in this team's first season in the league. Five of LSU's eight SEC home games will be on a Sunday.

There will be a move and upgrade process for season ticket holders in the coming weeks. Single game tickets will go on sale shortly before the start of the season. Fans are invited to join the Fast Break Club, the official fan club of LSU women's basketball.

All LSU games will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network on 107.3 FM in Baton Rouge. In addition, LSU's Dec. 5 games against Stanford and Jan. 23 at South Carolina will both be simulcast on 98.1 FM in Baton Rouge. A television schedule for the season will be released at a later date.

Coach Kim Mulkey returns for her fourth season as the Tigers' coach after advancing to the Elite Eight last season. LSU returns key players Second Team All-SEC Flau'Jae Johnson, First Team All-SEC Aneesah Morrow, Last-Tear Poa and SEC Freshman of the Year Mikaylah Williams. Sa'Myah Smith, a 2023 SEC All-Freshman, will be back to full fitness after suffering a torn ACL early last season, and 2024 SEC All-Freshman Aalyah Del Rosario will look to build on her strong freshman season. The Tigers also brought a trio of guards out of the transfer portal: Sheyeann Day-Wilson, Mjracle Sheppard and Kailin Gilbert, as well as Post Jersey Wolfenberger. Jada Richard, a guard from Lafayetter, will be the only freshman on the team.

To prepare for the season, the Tigers will host two tryouts open to the public in late October. LSU will face Xavier (LA) on October 24 and LSU-Alexandria on October 30.

LSU's season opener is at home against Eastern Kentucky on November 4. The Tigers will remain at home throughout November, playing Northwestern State (November 8), Charleston Southern (November 12), Murray State (November 15), Troy (November 18) and Tulane (November 20).

The Tigers will be in Nassua, Bahamas, Thanksgiving week for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship. LSU will play two games there and opponents will be announced at a later date.

After returning home, LSU will host NC Central on the first day of December. The Tigers' opponent in this year's SEC/ACC Challenge will be ACC newcomer Stanford in the PMAC on December 5.

Williams will play in front of a home crowd in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Dec. 8 when the Tigers face Grambling State at Brookshire Grocery Arena. LSU will return home on Dec. 15 to host another in-state school, Louisiana-Lafayette.

In its final two games before a short holiday break, LSU will face Seton Hall in the Hall of Fame Showcase in Uncasville, Connecticut, close to the Basketball Hall of Fame, where Coach Mulkey was inducted in 2021 and where assistant coach Seimone Augustus will be inducted in October.

LSU's final non-league game after the Christmas break will be on December 29, when the Tigers host Albany.

LSU will open its SEC play on the road at Arkansas (Jan. 2) before hosting Auburn for its SEC home opener on Sunday (Jan. 5). LSU's first game will be against Tennessee, and the first will be in Knoxville (Jan. 9). The Tigers' last game before their first off period is a Monday night game in the PMAC against Vanderbilt (Jan. 13).

After the bye, LSU travels to Gainesville to face the Gators (Jan. 19) before a Thursday night game at South Carolina (Jan. 23). After the two away games, LSU's next three games are at home against Texas A&M (Jan. 26), Oklahoma (Jan. 30) and Mississippi State (Feb. 2). LSU faces Missouri on the road (Feb. 6) before the Tigers welcome Tennessee to Baton Rouge (Feb. 9) for the second of two bye games.

The Tigers reach the home stretch of the regular season with an away game in Austin against Texas (February 16). LSU welcomes Georgia to the PMAC (February 20) before hitting the road again for the last two away games at Kentucky (February 23) and Alabama (February 27). LSU ends the regular season at home against Ole Miss (March 2).

The SEC Tournament will again be held in Greenville, South Carolina, from March 5-9. Selection Sunday for March Madness 2025 will be a week later on March 16.
