Convicted felon arrested in connection with Aug. 15 burglary in Spokane County | News

SPOKANE, Washington – A five times A convicted felon was arrested Thursday in connection with a burglary in Spokane County.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old Harry L. Autrey was arrested on August 15 for burglary.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred at around 10 a.m. on August 10 at a home on North Altamont Street.

Deputies said they received a call from a family member of the person living in the house who was on vacation. The caller said she found the back door damaged, and the house was ransacked when she checked on August 10.

According to SCSO, video footage captured two suspects arriving at the home in a white truck with a metal frame on the bed shortly before 5 a.m. Both suspects were wearing masks, but officers were able to get a description of one suspect's face as he disabled a camera with a crowbar.

Officials said the suspects stole several items, including a sword, tools, replica weapons and two long guns, and caused approximately $500 in damage to the door and lock.

On August 13, the sheriff's office discovered a truck matching the description of the truck seen during the break-in. Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and took it as evidence.

Investigators found several pieces of evidence in the truck, including bail papers for Autrey, who had been observed driving the truck past two various occasions before the break-in.

According to SCSO, between 1992 and 2023 there were 55 arrests, five felony convictions and 22 misdemeanor convictions. The felony convictions involved own Stolen goods, theft, Attempt to evade prosecution and to trade in stolen property.

Autrey was booked into the Spokane County Jail on burglary charges.

SCSO said this is an ongoing investigation and more Arrests are charges are expected.
