Police arrest Pee Dee teenager in connection with shooting investigation

MULLINS, SC (WMBF) – Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a shooting that left a 16-year-old seriously injured in Mullins last week.

Mullins police said 19-year-old Corey Jermaine Roberts Jr. of Mullins was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Roberts is accused of shooting the 16-year-old victim on August 18.

The victim was found by police responding to an accident on Church Street. The teenager was found in his right mind and sitting in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Roberts is being held at the Marion County Detention Center.
