Teenagers arrested in connection with vandalism in Muscatine

The suspects allegedly threw rocks at businesses, a car and an apartment, causing over $36,000 in damage.

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Several juveniles have been arrested in Muscatine in connection with a series of vandalism incidents, according to city officials.

The arrests relate to incidents on July 28, 29 and 30. Police allege the teens threw rocks at the YMCA on Logan Street, ProSkin Aesthetics and Wellness, a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Hershey Avenue and an apartment window in the 1200 block of Hershey Avenue. According to Muscatine police, the incidents caused over $36,000 in damage.

In a press release about the incidents, Muscatine officials announced the following arrests:

“Three juveniles have been charged with first degree criminal damage as it relates to the damages at the YMCA. Two juveniles have been charged with first degree criminal damage as it relates to the damages at ProSkin Aesthetics (one arrest is pending).

One juvenile was charged with third degree criminal damage for damaging the apartment window. Two juveniles were charged with third degree criminal damage for damaging the vehicle (one arrest is pending).”
