Two minors arrested after car break-in in Post Falls

The two minors were arrested and taken to the juvenile detention center on several charges.

POST FALLS, Idaho – Two people were arrested Tuesday following a car break-in in Post Falls.

According to Post Falls police, officers were dispatched to North Lincoln Street and East 13th Avenue because two people were attempting to break into a neighbor's car. Post Falls police said one of the two fled from police, but the minor was eventually apprehended. Police arrested the second minor shortly after the first suspect was arrested.

Post Falls Police said they learned the two suspects were involved in recent car break-ins in the area. Post Falls Police also said the suspects stole property, including a firearm, during the incident.

The two minors were arrested and sent to the juvenile detention center for burglary, possession of stolen goods, criminal conspiracy, possession of alcohol and tobacco by a minor, and violation of curfew.

Police said the minor who tried to flee from police was also arrested for resisting/obstructing police. Police also said the other minor was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol.

Later that day, police found another firearm during a search of the two minors' homes. Post Falls police said additional charges are possible as the investigation progresses.
