Suspects wanted for shoplifting, bank robbery in Manoa

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – In addition to the three weekly crimes highlighted on “This is Now,” HPD Sergeant Chris Kim also announced details of an upcoming fundraiser for KickstartHawaii.org, a youth program created by the late Chief Lee Donohue.

But first, here are the criminal cases for which the police are looking for clues:

Case 1:

On August 12th, at approximately 6:40 a.m., an unknown man entered the Pearl City/Aiea Home Depot. He loaded a shopping cart and left the store. Sergeant Kim said the items were valued at over $750, making this a second-degree theft investigation.

Case 2:

The second case is a burglary that occurred on the afternoon of July 16. A man aged between 20 and 30 broke into a house on Kaamilo Street, took various items and fled.

Case 3:

This case involves a bank robbery at the Manoa branch of the Bank of Hawaii. An unknown man entered the bank at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th and handed the teller a demand slip. He was observed fleeing the scene with an unknown amount of cash.

Anyone with information on any of the cases should call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or use the P3 Tips mobile app. All tipsters remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Fundraiser Kickstart Hawaii:

This fundraiser will take place on Sunday, September 1st from 5:00pm to 8:30pm at the Hawaii Kai Town Center.

Kickstart Hawaii aims to promote academic and character development through martial arts. The company also provides scholarships and encourages Hawaii's youth to pursue higher education.

This year's event honors founder Sensei Lee D. Donohue, who also served as Chief of the Honolulu Police Department.
