Man arrested after driving stolen car with drugs inside, police said

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man accused of driving a stolen car with drugs inside.

On August 20, an officer observed a vehicle with a provisional registration driving near Tilman Street.

After checking the license plates, the officer determined that the vehicle was indeed stolen.

The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was later identified as Quintavious Cunningham.

According to the affidavit, there were several arrest warrants against Cunningham.

When the officer searched Cunningham's vehicle, he also discovered a plastic bag containing marijuana and a bottle of pills that were later found to contain amphetamine.

A pistol was also found inside the vehicle.

Cunningham was taken to jail and is now charged with theft of property, drug possession and illegal possession of a firearm.
