Clippers criticized for “insane” ticket prices for new arena

Clippers fans have long had access to some of the cheapest tickets in the NBA.

But those days may be over, as the team has announced some pretty hefty prices for its opening game against the Suns on October 23. It will also be the first NBA game ever in the brand new Intuit Dome.

On Wednesday, the cheapest tickets in the lower tier cost $360 each. The cheapest seats in the entire arena cost $195.

The sharp increase in price is a bitter pill for Clippers fans to swallow, especially considering their roster has consistently fallen short of expectations. The team also lost two big-name players over the summer: Paul George and Russell Westbrook both packed their bags.

“As a lifelong Clippers fan, you should be ashamed of the prices you charged for opening night tickets and regular season games in general,” wrote one Clippers fan on X, formerly Twitter.

“Really sad to see this,” wrote another fan. “I've been waiting years to go to the preview. But I don't want to support these prices. Taking someone with me would cost me over $500 for the worst seats,” wrote one fan on social media.”

It remains to be seen whether these prices represent the new normal or a temporary increase due to the excitement surrounding the newly built arena.

Either way, Clippers fans are certainly not happy:
