SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, August 22, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night for alleged crimes against a 16-year-old boy.

Mohamed V. Fakii was arrested by Salt Lake City police on charges of forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony, and kidnapping, a second-degree felony. As always, the charges are brought by the District Attorney's Office, not police departments.

The boy was forensically interviewed and stated that he was walking around an apartment complex after taking out the trash.

The boy said he was approached by three men, including Fakii, “who asked him where he was going. (The boy) ignored the men and continued walking when the three men grabbed him, lifted him up and carried him into an apartment.”

The boy told investigators that when he entered the apartment, he was pushed onto a bed in the living room and stripped of his clothes. Two men held him by his legs and torso, and the third man, identified as Fakii, sexually assaulted him.

The teenager said the three men then took him to a bedroom where Fakii raped him again.

The boy said that at some point the other two men left the apartment and that he returned to the living room to get clothes and a cell phone.

According to his affidavit, Fakii left the bedroom, whereupon the teenager attacked him and punched the man in the face several times.

The boy said his mother and sister arrived shortly afterward, tracked his phone and called police. The call came into the dispatch center at 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

After his Miranda disclosure, Fakii refused to speak with investigators, according to his arrest records.

He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail early Wednesday morning and ordered held without bail.
