Oppo Find X8 live photo leaked online; possibly with redesigned rear camera module and flat sides

The design of Oppo's Find X8 has leaked for the first time, hinting at a brand new design for the standard Find X model. It's unclear if this new design will also be applied to the ultra-high-end Find X8 Ultra, but it's nice to see a fresh new approach, given that the Find X7 Ultra's design is based on the revamped design of the Find X6. The leaked image shows a very iPhone 15 Pro-like design direction, which is very different from the unique design we experienced when reviewing the Find X7 Ultra.

The image comes from Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, where a user posted an apparent spy photo of the alleged Oppo Find X8. Thankfully, the photo is not blurry and clearly shows the top half of the phone.

It seems that the phone will get a completely redesigned design that doesn't resemble its predecessors at all. The upcoming Oppo Find X8 might have moved to a flat design with beveled edges that look very similar to those of an iPhone 15 Pro. The sides appear to be made of metal (could also be titanium) and apart from the necessary cavities for the microphones and speaker at the top, there is also enough space on the right side for a three-level alert slider.

On the back, the LED is placed outside the camera module, as in previous models. The camera module does not appear as raised as on the Find X7 Ultra, but much flatter. In the rounded, square camera module (which stands out from the large, cookie-shaped module) we can see three rear-facing cameras. It is not clear whether the back is covered with vegan leather or simple glass.

Another observation we can make for sure (but is not visible) is that Oppo has finally moved away from the idea of using 3D curved displays. The Find X8, since it appears to have flat sides, will most likely have a flat display, similar to Google's new and current Pixel 9 smartphones.

As far as we know from an older report, the phones could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. Both handsets could get 1.5K+ resolution displays. An earlier leak also suggests that the Find X8 could have a flat 6.7-inch display, while the ultra-premium model could offer a 6.8-inch micro-curved display. Another leaked detail is that both smartphones could have 6,000mAh batteries. Oppo is expected to unveil its Find X8 smartphones in October this year.
