NYPD asks public for help in identifying suspect in subway sexual assault case


NEW YORK – The New York Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of public indecency that occurred on a northbound “F” train in Brooklyn on Thursday, August 15.

According to police reports, at around 11:45 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was sitting on a train near the Ditmas Avenue station when an unknown man sat across from her and exposed his genitals. The suspect then performed an obscene act in front of the victim.

It is still unclear where the person left the train. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The suspect is described as a man with glasses, a beard and long black hair. He was last seen wearing a light brown hoodie, black sweatpants and black sneakers.

The NYPD has released pictures of the suspect and is asking anyone with information to come forward. “We are asking the public for help in identifying this individual,” the police said in a statement.

  • Fire damages house in Madison; no injuries reported

    MADISON, Maryland. – A fire severely damaged a two-story wooden house in Dorchester County Wednesday afternoon, according to local fire officials.

    The fire at 1143 Taylors Island Road was reported at 12:07 p.m. by a passerby who noticed the fire on the rear patio of the property. The Madison Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the scene with the support of other units with a total of 45 firefighters. The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes.

    No injuries were reported, but the fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage – $30,000 to the building and $10,000 to its contents.

    Smoke detectors were present and activated in the house, alerting the residents even though they were not in the house at the time of the fire. The house was not equipped with a fire alarm or a sprinkler system.

    The cause of the fire is still being investigated, authorities said.
