Georgia murder suspect arrested after motel standoff

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office has announced an arrest following a standoff at a Covington-area motel Wednesday night. According to the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office, a Georgia man wanted for murder was arrested at the motel. Officers came to the motel after being told the man, Kenneth Hardin Jr., was wanted for a murder that occurred in Fayette County, Georgia, and was believed to be at the motel. A standoff began before Hardin Jr. left one of the rooms and was taken into custody. He was registered as a fugitive offender at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center. He will be extradited to Georgia.

A standoff ensued before Hardin Jr. left one of the rooms and was taken into custody. He was taken to the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center as a fugitive.

He will be extradited to Georgia.
