Hot Springs police arrest suspect in June 2019 murder

Hot Springs Police responded to a 911 call regarding a burglary, theft and murder of Kenneth Kelley Jr. of Portland 200.

During the investigation, an item containing DNA was collected and sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.

It was later submitted to the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).

The HSPD received notification from the state crime lab confirming that DNA evidence matched Rickey Wilson Jr.

Warrants were then issued for Wilson’s arrest.

He was arrested without appeal on August 22, 2024.

According to the HSPD, he is charged with premeditated murder, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.

Wilson was taken to the Garland County Detention Center on $500,000 bail, where he will remain until the end of his term.
