Salinas police investigate graffiti on buildings as hate crime

Salinas police are investigating graffiti found on a building as a hate crime. A swastika was written in spray paint, as was “Hell to the Jews” on the side of the Masonic Temple in Salinas at 48 East San Joaquin Street. A preliminary investigation found two people were involved, but they have not yet been identified, a police spokesman said. The Masonic Temple in Salinas is not a Jewish institution. Its website describes it as follows: “Freemasonry (also known as Masonry) is the first and largest fraternity in the world. A police spokesman said preliminary investigations had shown that two people were involved in the incident, but their identities were still unclear.
