Man allegedly stole lawnmower from Livingston store

LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) – Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons said a Montgomery County man was arrested after a business owner claimed he robbed him.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a call about a theft at Livingston Lawn and Garden on Highway 59 North. The caller reported a man, now identified as Sebastian Gerran Xavior Green, taking several zero-turn mowers from the business before leaving the scene.

The caller provided a description of the vehicle and trailer the suspect was driving. Officers from the Polk County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division and the Texas DPS Highway Patrol were able to locate the suspected thief, who then did not stop to follow officers.

The suspect attempted to elude officers in his vehicle, Sheriff Lyons said, but was caught near the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 59.

Green, 32, of New Caney, had a Montgomery County warrant for his arrest for theft. Officers also found Green to be in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine, the sheriff said.

He was accused of stealing property valued at >=$30K=1G

Lyons said the case is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
