Man charged with murder after Victoria Thomas found dead

A 44-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead on a property in Cardiff.

Alcwyn Thomas, of Heath, Cardiff, is charged with the murder of Victoria Thomas, 45, of Caerphilly Road, Cardiff, where The police were called, on Tuesday at 00:30.

He is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court later on Friday.

Ms Thomas' family described her in a statement as a “beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend” who was “taken from us in such a tragic way”.

“Our family is broken and we will miss her forever.

“Please respect our privacy and our desire to grieve during this devastating and difficult time,” the statement continued.

Det Ch Insp Matt Powell, of South Wales Police, said her family was being supported by family liaison officers.

“While our investigation continues on the ground, I would like to thank the local community for their support and understanding,” he added.
