Union City man faces drug charges after police find suspected heroin

A Union City man is being investigated for drug charges after authorities found suspected heroin in his apartment, days after a woman overdosed there.

Jonathan R. Weed, 30, was arraigned on Aug. 16 on felony charges of possession with intent to resell, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a murder weapon after his residence in the first block of Parade Street was searched on Aug. 16.

Weed was released from custody after posting $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on Sept. 9, according to court records.

Weed's criminal record did not list an attorney.
