Motorcyclist killed in accident in Joliet

Joliet Police responded to a car crash involving injuries at the intersection of North Larkin Avenue and Ingalls Avenue just before 7 p.m. last night. A preliminary investigation into the crash revealed that a Toyota Camry, driven by a 23-year-old
A Joliet man was driving north on North Larkin Avenue past Ingalls Avenue and was waiting to turn left west onto Ingalls Avenue.

It is believed that the Toyota attempted a left turn and collided with a Harley Davidson XL1200 motorcycle driven by a 19-year-old Joliet man traveling southbound on North Larkin Avenue. The impact knocked the motorcyclist to the ground. The driver of the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center.
Joliet Fire Department, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

The road remained closed for several hours while members of the Joliet Police Department's Traffic Unit reconstructed the accident scene. This accident remains under investigation.
