Subway lowers prices for Footlongs to $6.99 for 2 weeks

Subway is making footlongs a little more affordable. At least for a few weeks.

The sandwich chain is one of a handful of fast-food restaurant chains that are expanding or expanding their value-priced meal offerings. The others include McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Taco Bell, which are trying to retain and attract customers wary of rising prices, according to USA TODAY.

Subway's new offering is “as big as its iconic footlong sandwiches,” according to the company. For a limited time, customers can purchase any footlong sandwich on the menu for $6.99, although sides like bacon or avocado will still cost extra, according to the company.

Typically, 12-inch subs cost between $10 and $14 before add-ons.
