Two former Fulton County jail employees charged with sexual conduct with inmates

Authorities in Georgia have filed charges against four former Fulton County jail employees who allegedly supplied inmates with contraband such as cell phones and cigarettes. Two of the defendants also face sex crimes.

Per FOX 5 AtlantaThe four suspects were identified as 34-year-old LaQuna Ballard, 26-year-old Regina Harris, 24-year-old Anizya Silas and 26-year-old Breaisha Tate. Their arrests in connection with the crimes were announced by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. The four suspects are believed to be contract workers who were stationed in the same jail area.

In addition to the smuggling charges, authorities also said Ballard allegedly sent explicit photos and videos to an inmate, while Tate and an inmate allegedly engaged in sexual acts. Four inmates connected to the crimes were also charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of prohibited items.

“These women unfortunately chose to put themselves on the wrong side of the law by fraternizing with local residents. They will now face the consequences for the crimes they are accused of,” Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said in a statement.

In January Face2Face Africa reported that a Long Island grand jury indicted a former prison nurse who allegedly had a secret relationship with an inmate and arranged for him to obtain a ceramic knife while he was incarcerated at the Nassau County Correctional Center.

Per WABCYasmin Talbot's position at the Nassau County Correctional Center is said to be the second highest. The inmate Talbot is said to be having a secret relationship with has been identified as Christopher Wright. Talbot submitted her resignation in September after being suspended in August. This was after an investigation was launched. However, she later got a job at a nursing home before she was later arrested.
