Unwanted guest arrested with meth; woman in Mercedes arrested for drunk driving: Brook Park police report

BROOK PARK, Ohio –

Arrest warrant served, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia: Leslie Drive

A wanted 45-year-old man from Brook Park was arrested in Leslie on August 13 at around 8 p.m.

Police were called to a home in Leslie because the man refused to leave the property. Police knew the man and searched for him in their computer system. They learned he was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office.

When police arrived, the man was standing in the driveway of the Leslies' house. They informed him of the arrest warrant and handcuffed him.

The man admitted to having methamphetamine in his pants pocket. In his other pocket they found a glass pipe.

Driving under the influence: Smith Road & Harrison Drive

A then-35-year-old Brook Park woman was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on August 12 for driving while intoxicated on southbound Smith near Harrison Drive.

Police stopped the woman's Mercedes-Benz GLC because she was driving without headlights. Her eyes were bloodshot and glassy. She smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred.

The woman failed the breathalyzer test.

Stolen vehicle: snow road

A 2022 Jeep Wrangler was stolen between August 2 and August 10 from Park 'N Fly, 18951 Snow.

The victim suspected that her ex-boyfriend had taken the vehicle without her permission.

Theft: Smith Road

An unknown male stole a bag of potato chips valued at $3 from Marc's Deeper Discount Store, 5725 Smith, at approximately 1:30 p.m. on August 9.

A manager at Marc's told police he confronted the man as he ran out of the store's emergency door near the meat counter. The man was carrying a shopping bag of groceries.

When the man saw the manager, he dropped the shopping bag, grabbed the chips from the bag, ran out of the store and drove away.

Theft: Snow Road

A woman told police that her wallet was stolen between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. on August 7 while she was at Giant Eagle, 14650 Snow.

The woman only noticed that her wallet had been stolen when she went to one of the store's cash registers.

The woman later learned of fraudulent purchases she had made with the debit card she had in her wallet, including a $922 charge at Dollar Tree, which is located in the same mall as Giant Eagle.

On August 10, a citizen came to the woman's home and returned the wallet to her. She said she found it at Dollar Tree. Missing from the wallet were $150 in cash and the debit card.

Theft: Smith Road

An 83-year-old Brook Park woman was caught shoplifting at Marc's Deeper Discount Store, 5725 Smith, on August 13 at around 2 p.m.

A security guard at Marc's saw the woman stuff groceries into plastic bags and leave the store without paying. The bags contained 13 items valued at $42.

Marc's did not file a complaint, but banned the woman from the premises.
