Body found, Cane's fight reignited: PWC Crime Report

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The discovery of a body in Woodbridge is one of the incidents Prince William County Police responded to Wednesday.

Police were called to the 1700 block of Featherstone Road around 9:21 p.m. Wednesday. Police say the body of a suspected male was found in a decomposed state in a wooded area. The body was taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy and identification of the person.

The police do not believe that the death poses a danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing.

Serious intentional bodily harm/strangulation: On August 21 at 11:39 p.m., officers responded to the investigation of a fight at Raising Cane's located at 9501 Liberia Avenue in Manassas (20110). The investigation revealed that the victims, two 19-year-old males and an unknown male later identified as the defendant, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the altercation, the defendant punched one of the victims in the face before grabbing the other victim by the neck. Manassas Park Police assisted in separating the parties and arrested the defendant before he was turned over to Prince Wiliam County officers without further incident. One victim was treated at an area hospital for a non-life threatening injury. Additional minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the defendant, identified as Sebastian Anthony Taipe-Quispe, was arrested.

Sebastian Anthony Taipe-Quispe, 20, of Manassas, was charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit homicide and strangulation. Court date: pending | Bond: not available

Armed robbery: On August 21 at 3:42 p.m., officers responded to the Castro Bakery located at 14556 Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown man entered the bakery and indicated he had a gun before going behind the counter. Employees ran out of the store and called police. The suspect took money from the register before leaving the store. No weapon was seen and no injuries were reported.
