Fatalities in Manhattan car crash identified as 78-year-old Junction City man

MANHATTAN, Kansas (WIBW) – Authorities on Friday released the name of the man killed in a two-vehicle rollover crash in Manhattan Thursday afternoon.

The fatal victim was identified as Glen B. Raw, 78, of Junction City.

Fatal accident at the corner of Seth Child Road and Anderson Ave.

The accident was reported at 1:34 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Seth Child Road and Anderson Avenue.

Riley County Police officials said a white Honda Civic was traveling east on Anderson Street when it collided with a green Chevrolet Equinox attempting to turn left onto Seth Child Street, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Kaw, who was a passenger on board the Equinox, was taken to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Equinox, Karen Kaw, 77, of Junction City, was flown by rescue helicopter to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

The driver of the Civic, Ronni Combs, 41, of Riley, was taken by ambulance to Ascension Via Christi.

Riley County police officials said a third car was “partially involved” in the crash, as it was behind the Equinox and was struck by the impact. The third car was a Ford Focus driven by Jake Huber, 35, of Manhattan. Huber was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle for treatment.

Anderson Avenue at Seth Child Road was closed on Thursday from approximately 1:34 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Further information on the condition of the drivers of the Equinox and the Civic was not available Friday morning.

The accident was still being investigated on Friday.
