Convicted murderer Cola Beale sentenced to life imprisonment for Norfolk murder

Beale went on a shooting spree in March 2022, murdering his girlfriend and father figure in Virginia Beach and his cousin in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Virginia – A judge has sentenced convicted murderer Cola Beale to another life sentence for the murder of his cousin in Norfolk.

In 2022, Beale went on a killing spree, leading police on a days-long manhunt for him.

Last month, Virginia Beach District Court Judge James C. Lewis sentenced Beale to two terms of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole and one term of life, or 62 years and 12 months, for the murder of his girlfriend, Czavier Hill, and his father, Clifton Baxter.

On March 28, 2022, he killed his cousin Downing McLean in Norfolk. He was arrested in Hampton on March 31.

Earlier this year, Beale was found guilty of the murder of his cousin after a two-day trial.

Beale also faces an additional five years in prison for a weapons offense. The judge has not yet said whether those sentences will be served concurrently or consecutively.
