Michelle Obama shows love to Gus Walz after his viral moment at the 2024 Democratic National Convention was mocked online.

The 17-year-old son of the vice presidential candidate Tim Walz was incredibly moved by his father's big moment at the DNC earlier this week. Photos of him crying went viral online, but some mocked him for his emotional outbursts.

On social media Michelle praised Gus as an example of “true love”.

“I was touched when I saw Gus Walz's joy when his father @Tim_Walz took the stage last night. I am grateful that you showed us all what true love looks like, Gus”, she wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The former First Lady continued, “Let's be a nation that embraces that kind of warmth and vulnerability instead of mocking it or ridiculing it. We could all use some of that. Gus's example in our own lives.”
