FC Barcelona: Two-month injury to regular player shocks

FC Barcelona has suffered a serious injury blow. One of its regular players will reportedly be out for two months. Relevancewhich cited anonymous sources.

The absence of Andreas Christensen from training on Thursday raised suspicions that the Dane could be sold.

Barca is currently parting ways with all kinds of players in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations and to sign new players such as Dani Olmo.

For this reason, as announced on Friday, Ilkay Gündogan has returned to Manchester City, even though he joined the Catalans on a free transfer only 14 months ago.

Amazingly, Barca did not receive a single cent from City for Gündogan, even though he was arguably the club's best player last season and has two years left on his contract.

SPORT However, it has been reported that Barca could sell Christensen for the right price, and the fact that he also joined from Chelsea for free two summers ago means any potential sale would provide a much-needed net profit.

However, when it became known that Christensen missed training, SPORT later explained that his absence was due to physical ailments of the defender.

Relevance revealed that although Christensen was not seen on the Joan Gamper CT field on Friday, he was there and instead working behind closed doors.

There is bad news, however: the former Premier League star has reportedly sustained an injury that will keep him out of action for two months.

Whether the new blow is related to the tendonitis that forced Christensen to sit out several times last season has yet to be confirmed.

What is more certain, however, is that Christensen is unlikely to be sold in this transfer window.

It seems that head coach Hansi Flick wants to keep him in any case, as he announced in a press conference before the game on Friday.

“The way he is now, he can't help the team,” said Flick. “Last year he had some problems in some games, we have to watch out for him.”

“He is a very good defender and it is important for the club that he performs at 100%. With only 80% he cannot help us,” added the German.
