Julianne Hough defends ‘energy work session’ nearly five years after viral video

Nearly five years after participating in an energy workshop with Dr. John Amaral at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2020, Hough talks about that wild moment.

“I've had a few of these supernatural experiences and a lot of people said, 'Oh, she's lost it,'” said the Dancing with the stars Co-host said during his appearance at Kaitlyn Bristowe'S From the vine Podcast earlier this week. “I did this energy work session and it went viral. People were like, 'There are demons and an exorcist coming out of her asshole!'”

Hough was not embarrassed by the session, but noted that energy work is a much more common practice today than it was then.

“Of course, that was almost five years ago and now it's much more accessible,” noted the dance professional. “People understand what's happening. Energy is everything.”

And when you're a pioneer in something and you have the courage and the guts to put it out there, you're definitely going to get backlash, complete backlash. I give her my respect.”

“I feel so much more free inside that I can speak my truth clearly, own my power and not feel overwhelmed by emotions. Hough actually did it another energy experience during an episode of Paltrow’s Netflix series, Goop Labwhere she released a repressed trauma that she said she hadn't thought about for over “20 years.”

“When I was 10, my parents went through a pretty aggressive divorce, so I was living with my dance teachers. It wasn't the best living situation, and so I had this really just pissed off response that was literally right in my foot,” Hough said while having energy work done on her foot in a clip from the series. “This method works incredibly well for me because it helps me experience things and come back to them and be able to change them.”
